Presented here is a very charming 18 K Solid Gold pendant, dating back to the 1930's, with rare and unusual features as follows :
a) It has a diameter of 22.5 mm - without bail - and it is round surrounded with fine pearls and with a small rose cut diamond under the bail.
b) Its weight is 4.18 grams
c) It is made using the “Plique-à-jour” technique : Plique-à-jour (French for "letting in daylight") is a vitreous enameling technique where the enamel is applied in cells, similar to cloisonné, but with no backing in the final product, so light can shine through the transparent or translucent enamel.
d) The pendant is high relief and made in France. It represents the Virgin Mary in profile, crowned with a red halo . Enamel is in 2 colors Orange and Blue
e) It is hallmarked with the Eagle's head which is the French hallmark for 18K Gold.
f) It bears a Monogram on the reverse and it is estimated to be from the 1930's.

The chain in the picture is NOT gold but Vermeil ( Gold plated sterling Silver). It is a contemporary chain, not of the same age as the medal. Length of the chain is 45 cm . It is included as a gift in the offer.
