All Antique and Vintage Rosaries that I list come from my private collection. They are genuine antiques – older than 100 years – or genuine vintages – from 30 to 100 years old. All are in perfect condition and still very much usable. They are unique and a real pleasure to collect or still use.

This is a French Rosary dating from the 1920’s recognisable by the Art Deco style of the cross

1) 9.5 mm average dia. Vintage hand faceted Bohemian Crystal beads for the Ave Marias and 11 mm average dia. same beads for the Pater Nosters . Each Pater bead is capped on both side with sterling silver bead caps.

2)The beads are definitely hand made in view of the small variations in size and shape. In fact this high quality, perfectly crafted art crystal is today much more rare than genuine top quality gem type beads.

3. STERLING SILVER Art Deco cross 55 X 35 mm hallmarked with the boar's head - French hallmark for sterling silver

5. All Metal parts are Sterling Silver. The Center is marked on one side with a monogram and on the other side with the mention : " Souvenir de la Grande Chartreuse"-

6. Total length :56 cm (22.4 in.) -- - This is a large item. It will easily go over the head to be eventually worn.

This item is exceptional and of great rarity, it is over 90 years old and still in great condition. Very heavy in Sterling Silver.
This item has surely been passed on through generations - it is a great heirloom.

The Grande Chartreuse is the first monastery and mother house of the Carthusian monks. It is located in the commune of Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse, Isère, at the foot of the Grand Som, the fourth highest peak in the Chartreuse Mountains.

Chartreuse is a liqueur made at the Aiguenoire distillery in Entre-deux-Guiers, Isère, in the heart of the Chartreuse Mountains, under the supervision of the monks of the Grande Chartreuse monastery. A very high-alcohol liqueur (55% ABV for the green variety), its sale is the Carthusian monks' primary source of income.
