Early 20th Cent. Antique Sterling & Carnelian Lorraine Catholic Rosary XX Rarity

All Antique and Vintage Rosaries that I list come from my private collection.
They are genuine antiques – older than 100 years – or genuine vintages – from 30 to 100 years old.
All are in perfect condition and still very much usable. They are unique and a real pleasure to collect or still use.

The very special and unique item in this listing, is of extreme rarity and has the following characteristics:

1- The rosary dates from the beginning of the 20th century and bears a large Lorraine Sterling Silver cross as well as a Sterling Credo Cross. The cross was tested for 800/1000 purity which was the current silver content at the time. What makes it very interesting and rare is that it has a Lorraine Cross which today pertains to a French region, whereas in the early 1900's it was German and it also has a Credo Cross which is particular to the German rosaries.
2- Ave Beads are faceted Carnelian with diameter size is 8 mm
3- Pater Beads are a12 mm filigree sterling silver beads linked by a sterling chain.The large Ave MAria triangle and all the connecting chains and rings are also sterling silver
4- Size of the cross is : 70 x40 mm or 2.8 x 1.6 in.
5- Total weight of the rosary is 72.5 grams
6- Total length is 68 cm or 25 in.
7- All metal parts are sterling silver

This is a Unique item in all respects and may even be considered a museum item as it is a representation of mixed cultures pertaining to a border region between two countries.
