Presented here is a very special, thus rare, Enameled medal of our Lady of The Immaculate Conception. It is a hand painted miniature on copper, then Enameled and Kiln fired and inserted in a hand made Gold Vermeil frame. ( vermeil is Gold plated Sterling Silver)
Origin of the miniature is very probably Swiss. It dates of the 1930's.
The medal is in pristine condition and it is sold WITH the necklace as in the picture.
The medal is double sided as may be seen in Pictures.
The chain is aVermeil with Garnet beads.
It is not of the same period as the medal but much newer.
The chain is 40 cm long . It is given with a 10 cm extender, this will allow it to be worn long or short at will for any length between 40 and 50 cm.
All metal parts are Vermeil.
It is a very fine and nice item to wear. With its very special shape and design, it is quite unique.
Dimensions of the medal are : 20 x 17 mm or 0.8 x 0.7 in. ( excluding bail)
Weight of the framed medal, chain and extender is 11.6 grams.
