Late 19h Century French Solid 18K Gold Bicolor Intricate Cross Pendant Jewel UNIQUE
Presented here is Solid 18K Cross Jewel Pendant which dates back to the late 19th Century which is in two gold colors and with an intricate work
The cross pendant is hallmarked with the Eagle's head which is the French Hallmark for certified 18 Carat Gold.
The Pendant has an intricate work, with a Yellow Gold finely chiseled wine leave in the center. The shape of the wine leave is also reminiscent of a heart.
The bale is a shape of an intricate double knot, in the same Rose gold color as the body of the cross.
This knot is a reference to the knot of the traditional white ribbon that would usually adorn the first communion crosses that were presented as a gift for that special occasion.
It is a very fine and nice item to wear. It is also unique in its design and symbolism. A great jewelry item to own and pass on as heirloom.
A slight nick is present on the back but is completely not seen when worn.
For its age the condition is considered as Pristine
Dimensions of the pendant all in are : 60 x 32mm
Weight of the cross is 3.2 grams
The chain is NOT included - only the cross pendant medal is for sale.
