Presented here is a very special, thus rare, porcelain medal of Saint Benedict. It is a hand painted miniature on porcelain, then Enameled and Kiln fired and inserted in a hand made Sterling Silver frame.
Such medals of St Benedict are very seldom seen.
Origin of the miniature is very probably Spain.
The medal is in pristine condition and it is sold WITH the chain in the picture.
The chain is a Sterling silver chain. . The chain is not of the same period but much newer.
The chain is 50 cm long . All metal parts are Sterling Silver
It is a very fine and nice item to wear. With its very special shape it is quite unique.
Dimensions of the framed medal are : 25 x 20 mm or 1 x 0.8 in. ( excluding bail)
Weight of the framed medal and chain is 6.5 grams and the chain is 50 cm long. ( 20 in.)
