Presented here is an early 20th Century medal of the Virgin Mary as Mater Dolorosa. It is a hand painted Miniature on porcelain, then enameled and Kiln fired and inserted in a beautiful stylized Silver hand made frame that has been gold plated .
The obverse is plain.
The hand work is very fine and shows a beautiful portrait of Mary.
The medal is in pristine condition and it is sold together WITH the Gold Plated Sterling Silver Figaro chain in the picture. The chain is of a more recent date.
It is a very fine and nice item to wear, of great rarity, very probably unique
Size of the medal is 28 mm in diameter or 1.12 in. ( excluding bail)
The Chain is 50 cm ( 20 in.) long and weighs 3.2 grams of Gold plated 925 Silver
